Pupils, parents and friends of the School have been working tirelessly to raise much-needed funds for the upcoming St John’s School Community Holiday, due to take place between 16 and 23 August.
The holiday is a fun-packed residential week held at St John’s for 20 children aged 10 to 16 with a range of special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (mild and severe); moderate and severe learning difficulties; and epilepsy. 24 pupil volunteers from St John’s will be on hand 24 hours a day during the holiday, to provide one to one support, guidance and friendship to the holiday guests.
Last week, a fundraising dinner was hosted by Annie Adair and two coffee mornings were organised by Linda Slater, Sue Hedger, Geraldine Bowles and Clare Harman. The three events raised an incredible £1,132.30 for the Community Holiday, which will go towards days out, trips and activities over the course of the week.
Parent Jackie Quinn, a local estate agent, has generously offered to donate £50 for each estate agent board displayed outside the homes of parents in the local area, as well as donating 20% of the company’s fees to the holiday.
The School is extremely grateful for the on-going support of parents and friends of St John’s, who continue to work hard to ensure the holiday’s success.
