St John's has started the Autumn Term by welcoming 175 new pupils into a full and heavily oversubscribed school.
After a busy summer break, during which pupils volunteered at the first St John’s School Community Holiday and achieved A Level and GCSE success, the boys and girls were welcomed back to the School with a plethora of activity.
During the first week of term, pupils and teachers assembled on the Quad in the glorious autumn sunshine to take their place in the School photo. The pupils and staff occupied 12 tiers, almost eclipsing the backdrop of the Dining Hall, with just its spire clearly visible above.
The School continues to invest heavily in a number of building projects to enhance its facilities. A new fitness suite for the pupils has been fully fitted out. Work has also commenced on the new state-of-the-art Science Centre, which is due for completion in September 2015.
In 2016, the School looks set to widen its intake even further, with the opening of a new Lower School for pupils in Years 7 and 8. There has already been considerable interest, with a number of potential applicants registering. This is a very exciting time for the School.
