One of the School’s Upper Sixth pupils has been given the opportunity to take part in a prestigious placement year with Accenture, a leading global consultancy firm. Murray Hampshire (Churchill House) has been offered a place on the Horizons programme, a London-based internship for those interested in business and technology.
The scheme lasts for a period of eight months, and those on the programme are set to work as consultants for client projects throughout the placement year. Candidates are monitored for further opportunities, such as a fast track to graduate placements after university. There is also the possibility of a further three years’ worth of sponsorship, training and development, as well as support through university.
Murray, who is planning to read Economics after the placement, said of his success, “After an intense 2 year period of A levels, it will be nice to take a break from studying and do something completely new. I am keen to get some real work experience in a respected organisation, and the programme will offer me that.”
Getting a taster of life after study, Murray will get the chance to live and work independently in London throughout the course of the programme, which will finish with time for him to travel before university beckons in September 2016.
We wish Murray the very best with his placement.
