An enchanted spell was cast over St John’s on Thursday 5 February, with a number of Harry Potter themed events taking place at the School.
Pupils were invited to search the School’s campus for “Golden Snitch” and “Hedwig” balloons, in order to claim prizes. This spellbinding day was followed by a themed dinner and film night, where pupils dressed up for the occasion, made magical-themed cakes and caught up on the series of Harry Potter blockbusters and novels.
The School’s reading group, led by Head of Library Louise Ellis-Barrett, also travelled up to London on Wednesday 11 February to attend the launch of a website in memory of the author Dick King-Smith. Pupils enjoyed an evening at Waterstones in Trafalgar Square, meeting family and friends of the late author, as well as his editors and a number of professionals from the publishing industry.
