St John’s is delighted that Old Johnian George Kruis has been selected in the England rugby squad announced by new Head Coach Eddie Jones.
Having been hailed as one of the stand-out and versatile forwards in the country, George will hope to build on the 10 caps he has earned so far when this season’s Six Nations campaign gets underway.
George has been at the heart of dominant displays by Saracens so far this season, which has seen them win eight of their nine matches to head the Aviva Premiership table. Despite being concussed in last weekend’s match against Harlequins, George is set to be back in action in time for the England matches and will no doubt have a key part to play in Eddie Jones’s reignited team.
St John’s 1st XV coach, Nick Platt, said, “George has impressed everyone with his mature displays for England in previous games and his burgeoning talent has seen pundits up and down the country singing his praises. There is no doubt that he has the skills and temperament to make a big impression in the new regime under Eddie Jones. Everyone connected to St John’s certainly wishes him well.”
