On Sunday 20 March the School hosted its first Easter egg hunt and family fun afternoon for the local community. Over 50 families were welcomed to St John’s on the first day of spring for an afternoon of fun and Easter escapades.
Around 100 local children took part in the Easter egg hunt, having made their own baskets to collect tokens hidden around the School’s grounds, before presenting their tokens to the Easter Bunny in exchange for an egg and other Easter goodies.
As well as the Easter egg hunt, the afternoon included face painting, archery, football, croquet and a delicious Easter tea, with St John’s pupils on hand to help with the event.
One local parent commented: ‘We’ve had a truly splendid afternoon. Everything was well organised and the chocolate egg gifts were very generous indeed.’
Louise Ellis-Barrett, Head of Community Service at St John’s, added: ‘It was lovely to see so many families turn up for our Easter celebration. The children absolutely loved the Easter egg hunt and treats, and the afternoon was a huge success.’
