The School is pleased to welcome back Sol Budinger to the St John’s cricket team in time for the Summer Term.
Australian exchange pupil Budinger, 16, played for St John’s during the 2015 cricket season, and proved to be a great success on the field and in the classroom.
Sol has averaged 63 with the bat down under this year and was recently selected in a combined Queensland U17 school team that featured players from all over the state, as well as boys that had represented the Australian U17 team. Budinger commented: ‘It has been a wonderful experience for me and I have learned so much, but I’m now turning my attention back to cricket at St John’s and hope the runs continue to flow.’
Sol will be under the guidance of David Hammond, Head of Cricket at St John’s, and as a British passport holder, is looking to make his way into the professional game whilst in the UK – we look forward to see how he gets on.
