Fresh from his exploits in the World Sevens Series for England, OJ Cameron Cowell came into St John's to deliver a skills session to the U14 and U15 7s squads this week.
Cameron was buoyant with the news that he had signed another contract with England 7s, and will aim to be a key man for them in the coming few months. His next stop will be the Paris leg of the World Sevens Series as well as quiet hope of selection to the Great Britain training squad for the Rio Olympics.
In other 7s news, current pupil Kimball Klintworth (Lower Sixth, East) was selected to represent the prestigious Samurai Bulldogs at the East Grinstead Sunshine 7s last weekend. The Bulldogs are the Academy outfit of the most famous invitation 7s rugby side in the world.
The Bulldogs entered two sides into the 59th Sunshine 7s and Kimball was selected to represent the Blue side. His side reached the semi-final, where they played the Red side, coached by our Head of Rugby, Mr Roberts, who is in his 4th season of coaching the side. The Reds got the better of the Blues, who in turn lost the final in the last play of the game.
Head of Rugby at St John’s Chris Roberts said: "This was wonderful exposure and experience for Kimball to play in an adult tournament alongside up and coming stars of the game."
