Announcement from the Chairman of the Governing Council of St John’s Leatherhead
The School’s Headmaster, Martin Collier, has recently informed the Governing Council of his intention to leave St John’s at the end of the 2016-17 academic year to take up the post as the Master of Haileybury College - a leading coeducational boarding school in Hertfordshire. Mr Collier will remain in his post at St John’s until the end of the 2017 Summer Term which will allow us ample time to identify and recruit his successor, and to ensure that an orderly handover is achieved.
Commenting on this announcement, John Willis, Chairman of the Governing Council said:
“In the time that Mr Collier has been with St John’s he has overseen a significant improvement in standards at St John’s and we are grateful for what he has achieved. We are pleased that he will be with us for another full school year which will allow Mr Collier and his senior team the time to ensure that the new Lower School intake is fully integrated into St John’s.
“Whilst we will be very sorry to see Mr Collier go, we understand his reasons for wanting to take on the role of Master of Haileybury. This is a fantastic opportunity for Mr Collier, who has been with St John’s since 2011. We wish him well for the future.”
