On a day when British voters rocked the British political establishment, St John's pupils once again bucked the national trend.
The School’s EU referendum campaign was a vibrant and keenly contested affair, with pupils of all year groups attending debates and actively participating in the campaign. The week included two afternoons of debating, followed by a School-wide vote on Wednesday 22 June.
On ‘election day’, over 300 boys and girls voted and produced a clear victory for the Remain camp with over 82% of the vote.
Both sides conducted their campaigns with skill, courtesy, intelligence and good humour. Perhaps our national politicians could learn a lesson from the example they set.
