On Friday 21 October, pupils in Haslewood House enjoyed a ‘Haunted Halloween Night’ organised by the House’s Sixth Formers.
Taking place in the candle-lit Old Chapel, the festivities included Halloween costumes, a screening of Casper, and a ‘wrap the mummy’ competition. The pièce de résistance of the evening was an appropriately eerie Halloween Bake Off, featuring spectacularly spooky baked creations.
Gravestone cupcakes, spiders’ web and ghost cakes, Frankenstein heads and bat-decorated flapjacks all featured in the contest, which saw Lilly Nowers (Lower Fifth) crowned bake off winner for her gloriously gruesome blood-spattered cake with a knife through the centre.
