During the October half term break, the School invited pupils from three local primary schools to celebrate the 90th birthday of Winnie the Pooh.
Over 100 children from Woodlands, Trinity and West Ashtead schools joined pupils from the St John’s School Community Service Unit for a celebratory picnic in the Dining Hall, complete with multi-coloured picnic blankets, colouring books, crafting activities and games. The children were also treated to a reading of the new Winnie the Pooh book, alongside a glorious picnic spread.
Head of Community Service at St John’s, Louise Ellis-Barrett, said: “Winnie the Pooh at 90 is a moment to celebrate and enjoy, and we did just this. Helping children from local primaries enjoy an alternative afternoon of literary fun was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.”
