St John’s has been named in The Cricketer magazine’s list of top 100 cricketing schools for the second year running, with the School being featured on the front cover of the guide.
Recognition by The Cricketer is a great reflection on the current state of cricket at St John’s. Building on the success of last summer, the 2016 season proved to be the School’s most successful yet. The hugely successful U15 tour of Dubai, the 1st XI retaining their festival trophy and the U14’s becoming Surrey county champions were real highlights.
In April the cameras will return to St John’s so that the magazine can film part of the School’s 1st XI game. The School’s Head of Cricket, David Hammond, commented: “2016 was a standout year for cricket at St John’s and I am delighted that the hard work of both the cricketers and staff at the School has been recognised with the inclusion of this prestigious award for a second year running.
“2017 has a lot to live up to, but with the School touring Dubai at Easter again and the introduction of U12 cricket at the school, exciting times lay ahead.”
