The current U15 cricket side has been invited to play in the highly prestigious Eton Festival this summer. With only four teams playing in the tournament St John's will be facing off against Eton, Harrow, and Wellington over the summer. This event will be a fantastic opportunity for the St John’s side to test themselves against some of the best cricketing schools in the country.
The invitation is a testament to the strength of cricket at the School and the work of Mr Hammond and his team of coaches after their 2016 county cup success. St John’s currently features in The Cricketer magazine’s list of top 100 cricketing schools for the second year running, with the School being featured on the front cover of the guide.
The School’s Head of Cricket, David Hammond, commented: "This team have a hugely exciting summer of cricket ahead of them. They will be preparing for the season in Dubai over Easter, where they are taking part in The Arch Cup. When they return, they will be playing in the regional phase of the ESCA U15 tournament alongside their T20 and Saturday fixtures. To finish the season playing in The Eton festival is the perfect way to end the summer and I hope they enjoy every bit of it."
