Kruis selected for Lions series

St John’s is delighted that OJ George Kruis has been selected for the British and Irish Lions for their upcoming series against New Zealand this summer. Despite missing England’s 2017 Six Nations campaign due to injury, George’s standing as one of England’s leading players has seen him selected for the Lions, beating off competition from some extremely impressive players. George has been central to England’s recent success and is responsible for calling the lineouts in Eddie Jones’s squad. A major player in the lineout, George is also an athletic and intelligent ball player who has gained many plaudits for Saracens and England.

Nick Platt, 1st XV coach at St John’s, said “we are absolutely thrilled that George has been selected for the British and Irish Lions. His performances in recent years both for Saracens and England have proven he is capable of making the cut, but to see it come to fruition is a fitting accolade. Everyone associated with St John’s wishes him well on the tour and also in his remaining games this season for Saracens, as they look for domestic and European success.”
