Community Holiday sponsored walk

Fifteen pupils, two members of staff and various family members participated in a sponsored walk in aid of the Community Holiday on Sunday 23 April. The route took the group through beautiful Surrey countryside, setting out from Holmbury Hill circuiting through Peaslake and around Holmbury St Mary before ascending to the summit. The weather was bright, and the group enjoyed views from the top.

The Community Holiday is a seven-day residential holiday for twenty children with special needs, aged between 10 and 18. The annual retreat is held at St John’s School in August and staffed by Sixth Form pupils and volunteer ex-pupils. The holiday provides the children with an unforgettable experience and an opportunity to develop independence. It also provides their parents and carers with a week of much-needed respite.
