Pupils study GCSE courses in English, mathematics and science (in which pupils will sit two or three GCSEs on the dual or triple award system). Pupils then select another four subjects from the list of options, as described in the GCSE options booklet which can be viewed by following the link below. Modern languages are not compulsory but most pupils will include at least one within their four options.
Many subjects follow the IGCSE course because of the flexibility it provides; in these subjects we also believe the IGCSE offers a better preparation for study of the subject at A level.
The options available for 2017-19 are: art, classical civilisation, classical Greek, computing, design and technology, drama, fine art, geography, history, languages (French, Spanish and German), Latin, music, physical education and religious studies.
For further details on GCSE choices please refer to the GCSE options booklet.
