Deputy Head

For January 2018

We are seeking to appoint a successor to the current Deputy Head, Mr Alex Tate, who has been appointed Head of Bedford Modern School.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional to join a dynamic Senior Management Team. The successful candidate will have significant middle management experience, drive, energy and strategic vision.

Support Staff Vacancies


Theatre Manager

40 hours a week, 34 weeks per year term time
Flexibility to work evenings/weekends and in the School holiday is required

St. John’s School is seeking a flexible and committed Theatre Manager to support the School’s busy events schedule, working with the Head of Drama to support productions and events throughout the school year. This is a new and wide-ranging position incorporating sound and lighting operation, stage management, and broader events management, with substantial scope for the successful candidate to play to their strengths. The successful candidate will have excellent organisation and administration skills.

Catering Porter

40 hours a week, 36 weeks per year (180 days) term time
Flexible rota: Monday - Sunday

The School is seeking to appoint a friendly and committed individual to support the busy Catering Department. The post holder will be able to work effectively within a team supporting with the general cleaning and hygiene of kitchens and front of house as well as assisting with deliveries and ensuring items are stored and labelled correctly. Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene is desirable but full training will be given.
