Graduate Assistants

Fixed Term Contract: January 2018 – June 2018

From January 2018, St John’s School is looking to employ an exceptional graduate with a good degree in any discipline. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in an educational setting by contributing to the sporting and co-curricular programme of a leading co-educational independent school in the south east of England. There is also the prospect of getting involved in other aspects of school life for those who are considering a career in teaching and/or wish to take full advantage of the opportunity. There is a possibility to develop into a teaching fellow role for the right candidate.

Ideally candidates will have coaching or playing experience in a variety of sports, but those who excel in one sport will still be considered. We are particularly interested in graduates with a strong background in football or netball.

Enthusiasm, flexibility, a positive approach to all games, the ability to work as part of a team, and a willingness to participate fully in a busy and thriving School are essential, as is a sense of humour.

Candidates should have a basic understanding of security, health and safety and porterage and be able to use their initiative. The position will also involve driving the school minibus, when necessary, for which training will be provided.

Experience of working within a school environment would be an advantage and the ability to work as part of a team is essential.
