We raise money to widen access to St John's to children from clergy and low-income backgrounds, as well as to support carefully selected capital projects run by the school.
Our current fundraising priorities are:
Widening access to children from low income backgrounds and the sons and daughters of clergy.
We are very excited to be launching this new initiative at St John's. This fund could significantly benefit any pupil at the School whose family may find themselves unable to continue to pay fees, owing to serious illness or dealing with death within the family. It is of high importance that the School be able to support parents at their time of need, to ensure that a child does not have to leave St John's in the middle of studying for important exams because of unforeseen circumstances.
Plans are underway to give the cricket pavilion a new lease of life and to refurbish it as a memorial tribute to Chris Tongue, the highly respected former Headmaster of the School and great cricket enthusiast.
The plans include significant modernisation of the upstairs bar and social area, improved heating and changing facilities allowing the pavilion to be used all year round and enhanced viewing for spectators. Not only will this make the pavilion a much more comfortable facility for the pupils, it will also make it more practical as a venue for use by the local community and other cricket clubs.
We are very grateful to the OJs, former parents, Friends, and the SJPA who have already donated more than a third of our target amount of £45,000.
If you would like to make a donation and ensure the pavilion matches the status as one of the top 100 cricketing schools in the country you can do so online, by completing the donation form or by contacting the Development Office at email@example.com.
