The Old Chapel was built in 1878 as the School Chapel when St John’s moved from London to Leatherhead, and was later used as the School Library before falling into disrepair. Thanks to extraordinarily generous and kind donations from friends, Old Johnian’s, parents, former parents and local businesses, we were able to fund an extensive renovation project to bring the Old Chapel back to life. Completed in April 2014, the beautifully restored building is now in full school use again, and available as a fantastic venue for the local community to use.
The stunning Old Chapel stands prominently at the entrance to the School. The building’s marvellous architecture includes a number of period features such as stained glass windows and an impressive vaulted ceiling.
We are delighted to be able to share this unique location with the local community, perfect for exhibitions, concerts, seminars, celebrations and charity events. The Old Chapel offers a unique and different location for your special event.
