Pastoral Care

St John’s is renowned for its outstanding pastoral care.

The Head of Lower School has a pastoral overview of the Lower School pupils and is supported on a day to day basis by the Lower School tutor team. Every boy and girl has a tutor who they see each morning and afternoon who act as champion and mentor. He or she are always on hand to offer encouragement and support. Such care gives the pupils confidence and helps lead, amongst other things, to academic success.

We welcome close parental involvement and participation. Indeed, the on-going dialogue between a tutor, pupil and parents is of great importance.

Our senior pupils act as mentors to those in the Lower School to support them in every aspect of their development.

Our House system, of which the Lower School is a part, is an outstanding feature of St John’s. It is centred on a promotion of identity, pride and, above all else, a sense of belonging.
