The School Day

The structure of the School week provides a taught curriculum from Monday to Friday. There are no lessons on Saturday at St John’s, but pupils are required for sporting activities where necessary.

The Lower School Day

The Lower School day starts with registration at 8.35am. There are five lessons every morning and lunch is taken at 1pm. There are two lessons after lunch with games taking place on Monday and Wednesday. Performance (Music and Drama), Creativity (Art) and Technology (Computing, DT and Technology) taking place on Thursday and Friday afternoons.

A wide range of co-curricular activities from debating to adventure training are on offer every day from 3.30pm to 4.10pm.

The day for Lower Third (Year 7) and Upper Third (Year 8) pupils ends with de-registration at 4.15pm. The day for the other year groups in the School finishes at 5.15pm . The boys and girls have the option to stay for supervised prep until 5.15pm.

9:00am - 11:10am Periods 1, 2 & 3 (40-minute periods)
11:10am Break
11:35am - 1:00pm Periods 4 & 5 (40-minute periods)
1:00pm Lunch
2:00pm - 4:10pm Periods 6, 7 & 8 (40-minute periods)

 Games (Tuesday & Thursday - 2:00pm - 3:30pm)

On Saturdays there are sports fixtures for those selected to represent the School.

Bad Weather Policy
